Our Story

In 1963, after completing service with the United States Navy, Bob Palmer began his career in trailer leasing for RentCo in Chicago, IL. In 1965, Bob capitalized on his knowledge by founding his own company, Palmer Leasing, Inc., in St. Louis, MO. With an initial fleet of eleven trailers and operating from a shared office, Palmer Leasing became an early pioneer in emerging business equipment leasing in St. Louis, providing our clients all the benefits of ownership and more at a fraction of the cost. From this small venture, Palmer has expanded gradually, primarily relying on organic growth and customer referrals over the years into one of the largest privately held companies of its type in the country. Today, Palmer is a market leader with a large fleet and substantial industry experience. We owe our enduring success to the strong values set forth by our founder, Bob Palmer, and his original team: treating employees and clients like partners and never compromising on our commitment to providing superior customer service and equipment. While times have changed and our business has evolved, these principles remain as important now as they did more than 50 years ago. Our passion for and commitment to these principles are the foundation of our business and it is the very reason we have been a leading equipment provider in the trailer leasing and mobile storage industry throughout our history. Bob’s legacy continues through the second and third generation family and dedicated team members who continue to provide our customers with the same core personal service principles on which Bob Palmer established the company.
